Technic 1200 MK 2, no on/off switch, good shape other than that.
It's stuck in "on", so I've been turning it on and off with a 5 plug wall adapter that I'll throw in so electric bills aren't ridiculous. Also the switch can be replaced through DJ catalogs for about 20 bucks. $225 neg.
Stanton Str8 - 60, very good shape, just a few scratches. $155 neg.

both with come with a plain grey slipmat, headshell, cartridge and needle for a stanton 500.
Hit me up here or on the email if you're interested.
I don't want to sell either, but I need a car.

Umm I think I'minterested...I want to buy a system for my boyfriend for Christmas. So you need to tell for real if these things are in good shape. How used are they? I'm a little ignorant on the subject, but learning quickly...so is this the whole package he needs to DJ, like 2 decks, a mixer, or is a mixer not included. It's fine if it's not. Let me know details. Thanks

So what's the story with this new Technics digital turntable? It looks exactly like a turntable? Is this because people will freak out if it doesn't look like a turntable, or do the designers at technics have not enough imagination to not look like a turntable, or is there some reason for this will make me sound like a complete nimrod?

The platter has the exact same direct drive motor as the SL1200 (same chassis too) so the idea is that there's no difference with the SL1200 in feel. Onboard sampling/looping, auto cue load, digital in/out, MP3 CD support, SD memory card support, Rumours are that it's going to cost around $3000. It's going to be officially unveiled this sunday and will probably be in the shops somewhere in 2004.

gosh that is beautiful but the $$$!!! I have been wondering whether I am some sort of luddite for sticking to vinyl but then I look at the price tags for the highend Pioneer CD decks, Final Scratch, and now this, and say "aha!". When I can get this sort of technology for $450 a deck, then maybe I will consider it.

five years pass...

I think I'm going to get a new set of Shure cartridges
I'm looking at these and realizing that it might be worth the extra 17 (X 2) dollars to step up to something better, namely the M44-7, especially if it's going to have a significantly longer life than a more entry level cartridge.

I really don't know anything about needles, I'm changing them now because I got a pair that came with used turntables and I'm afraid they're worn out (there's skipping here and there, sometimes I have to raise the counterweight, etc.), but ultimately I have no idea. I'm not playing at clubs or on a HiFi system, so I'm not sure (not shure?) what difference it ultimately makes for someone like myself.

I probably shouldn't have posted this on this thread since I'm sure no one is opening a thread called "turntables for sale", so I promise if I repost it it's not spamming. . . .
