One man and his broken heart and mountain of keyboards vs. two to four or so snarky post modernists looking for a sugar fix.

How about taking sides: benton versus vilcata?

You are a bitter, angry man. I can tell that means you dont like pavement.

Vilcata. Goatees trump all.

Oh, and Pavement. Like it's a contest.

indie bashing is so 90's.

jm (jtm), Friday, 10 January 2003 16:22 (twenty-three years ago)

As they're both indie, that seems to undermine the approach.

i've started grow weary of the whole concept of indie.

i mean, in this age of well established independent circuits and distribution and so on ... in this land of setting up tours by people you meet on email lists and message boards, the whole notion of "independent" seems washed out.

pavement's a rock band and cftpa is a singer song-writer.

do they have to be instantly discounted because they aren't on TRL this afternoon? or because their guitarist is their tour manager and their drummer is their roadie and their keyboardist is their "bus" driver?

but it's so much easier that way! argumentum ad populum is the favorite musical error after all.
