I often wonder the same thing, maria. They're probably in their early 20s by now.

Look, they were adorable (hope this works better than my Zolar X photos)--

...and I can make a better hot dog...in a hundred million years!

On that note, wherefore art Human Skab? He was like a lo-fi earlier version of Old Skull.

what happened to venus from unit 3 and venus?

dan (dan), Friday, 10 January 2003 22:20 (twenty-three years ago)

This band should have been the punk rock Menudo, members getting kicked out and replaced at age 16 etc. And from the lyrics I can somewhat make out from the Spanish language, it seems both bands were on the same wavelength in regards to carefully balancing a serious political agenda with the need to party.

remember "Skate or Die"?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Wasn't that Suicidal Tendencies?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:51 (twenty-three years ago)

what happened to venus from unit 3 and venus?

And what happened to her little boyfriend, Steven from Mad Society?

Arthur (Arthur), Saturday, 11 January 2003 03:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I remember these guys!!! I have one of their albums on tape somewhere in a box from when I moved 3 years ago! Great songs, like "Do Any Of Y'all Know Where The Herb Is" and something about how the CIA invented crack to kill poor people. Very heavy indeed, being sung in prepubescent voices and all.

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Saturday, 11 January 2003 04:11 (twenty-three years ago)

CIA Drug Fest was the album and that song was called "D'yall Know Where The Herb's At"

Sorry bout that.

Still, one of the best $3 I ever spent.

What's the most "losing my edge"-like accomplishment you can boast?

Sméagol-Eye Cherry (NickB), Saturday, 20 November 2010 01:15 (fifteen years ago)

Not trying to be "funny" with that link btw, just wondering if dean was serious (i never knew), and if so, sincerely hoping he is okay.

Sméagol-Eye Cherry (NickB), Saturday, 20 November 2010 01:20 (fifteen years ago)

What's Yr Take on JON WILLIAMS?

^ okay, I guess not

Sméagol-Eye Cherry (NickB), Saturday, 20 November 2010 01:24 (fifteen years ago)

RIP. As a 12yo Thrasher magazine subscriber & fledgling guitarist, I was actually pretty hugely inspired by OS ("if they can do it.."

the 'Friends' experiment (Pillbox), Saturday, 20 November 2010 01:29 (fifteen years ago)

Sad news. That's really cool, Pillbox, I always wondered how many kids they had that effect on. Jesse Collins is a friend of my brother's and a great drum-n-bass DJ. I remember him when he was a toddler with a mohawk running around Madison punk shows.

Pete Scholtes, Saturday, 20 November 2010 02:00 (fifteen years ago)

Well, maybe not a toddler--a little kid.

Pete Scholtes, Saturday, 20 November 2010 02:00 (fifteen years ago)

RIP

if only that fucker PJ hadn't taken control of the band :(

ten years pass...

Suddenly thought of these kids after a friend asked if I wanted to see Live Skull and man, I had no idea they ended so tragically. Seven months after J.P. died, his brother Jamie killed himself. A couple of years before that, their dad/producer Vern died (and their mother had died some years before that in a train accident). Oof. Just a sad collision of depression, homelessness, illness and drug addiction.
