dud; sorry.

M Matos (M Matos), Saturday, 11 January 2003 23:24 (twenty-three years ago)

its ok dont be sorry. why do you think so?

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 12 January 2003 00:11 (twenty-three years ago)

M Matos speaks poison; it's a great little album.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 12 January 2003 01:22 (twenty-three years ago)

so like they try and make "electronic/computer music" without computers? - why... but I suppose hardware samplers are ok?

the mp3s are crap.

Savin All My Love 4 u (Savin 4ll my (heart) 4u), Monday, 13 January 2003 01:43 (twenty-three years ago)

no, Matos speaks truth. the album is boring as fuck. the part where the gnashy vocals come in on track 4 are jarring; it's like hearing death threats on grocery-store Muzak.

I was halfway through writing a review of this and being generally mean to the record when I saw yr name in the credits, Chaki; I couldn't write anymore after that because I like you and felt bad about dissing something you had been part of. but my job's my job etc.

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 13 January 2003 05:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow, they link to websites for the Darius videogames! Surely they can't be all bad.

original bgm, Monday, 13 January 2003 06:09 (twenty-three years ago)

M, please finish your review! I am proud to be apart of the project but dont let that stop you. I have much respect for your writing and opinions and id really like to see what you have to say. Aint no thang!

chaki (chaki), Monday, 13 January 2003 06:21 (twenty-three years ago)

oh, I finished it. it just took a few hours to get back into it.

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 13 January 2003 06:26 (twenty-three years ago)

good i wanna read it. wheres it gonna be printed? conections aside, i think its a fine album. i cant help but shake my ass to some songs. i think his newer stuff is more bad azz though. the show last night with xiu xiu and captain ahab was fun as hell.

chaki (chaki), Monday, 13 January 2003 06:40 (twenty-three years ago)

wanted to see that show but didn't go for no good reason. heard xiu xiu's latest album this christmas - the singer grates but the music's great. need to listen to it more. are they good performers?

pb, Monday, 13 January 2003 07:06 (twenty-three years ago)

it'll be in Time Out New York

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 13 January 2003 07:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Matos is right. Its no friggin Basement Jaxx.

D, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 21:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think it was planning on being that to begin with.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 21:34 (twenty-three years ago)

lots of guests on here besides me. stphanie from bright eyes, bob from slowcoach and a few others.

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

i just heard 'sad song' on real world road rules battle of the sexes!

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 23:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Haven't heard this album (tho I do know some of the artist's other worl) but just saw the Michelangelo Matos piece on it in Time Out New York...seriously, man, do you sleep while monkeys do your work? That was one stupid review! Talk about saying nothing, I just had to comment that that was, hands down, the worst written album review I have ever seen. Bravo!

Vic, Thursday, 16 January 2003 00:13 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 16 January 2003 00:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I was wondering if the chaki in the credits was the chaki on this board.

I have only listened to the album once, so I can't really say anything about it, but it seemed fine (& I love the cover art). But I've seem him live a few times (and my band played a show with him) and his set is always a good time. I would probably enjoy it even more if it weren't so wedded to 4/4, though, but I'm weird like that.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 00:18 (twenty-three years ago)

thanks, Vic! anytime!

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 13 February 2003 00:19 (twenty-three years ago)

whats your band chris?

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 13 February 2003 00:22 (twenty-three years ago)

The Minor Thirds. ("A dorky name for dorky times.") We played with Books On Tape and a bunch of other bands at Flor Y Canto in Highland Park back in January.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 01:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually, now that I think about it, the other band I'm in, Celesteville, also played at that show.

So, yes, that means I'm twice as special.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 01:16 (twenty-three years ago)

who else is listening to this?

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 13 February 2003 04:26 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
chaki, do you know why "child pornography" gets a shout out in the credits of "sings the blues"? that was kinda weird.

W i l l (common_person), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

there is a band from out here called "child pornography"

charleston charge (chaki), Thursday, 10 March 2005 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

they should do a double bill with "child abuse"

W i l l (common_person), Thursday, 10 March 2005 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

four years pass...

Matos is right. Its no friggin Basement Jaxx.

Well, thank FUCK. I kinda like one record. Blues on something or other. I should give it another "spin".
