What are the best known songs for singing when your drunk ?

There are lots of great Irish drinking songs....this is one of my favorite bands for drinking music- I saw them in a pub here in Seattle this fall, and they're great when you're completely drunk. ;- )

I don't sing much when drinking, but a prerequisite is that the lyrics have to include one or the other of the following lines in the chorus:

1. 'don't just stand there, bust a move!'

2. 'I guess you're just what I needed!'

Last time I heard a chorus of drunks shout in unison was New Year's, "The Ice of Boston" by the Dismemberment Plan - an annual event. Magical, yes.

My first night in Barcelona I was drug into a small bar, full of older, drunk Spaniards, all singing, quite loudly, off-key, and several beats behind the record "Achy-Breaky Heart." At the time I laughed. Now I shudder. And in my favorite bar, my friend and I play "American Pie," and the crowd usually joins in on the chorus.

At home, when drinking and making noise, we've been doing an Elton John thing, mixed with a bit of Loggins and Messina (don't ask) and then we start making stuff-up, which actually sounds quite good after enough alcohol has been consumed (and especially where we're all jammed into the closet 'cause we think that the reverb is better in there). Oh, and we've been doing some 70's retro-things too, but have had to admit defeat on the Bee Gees, as none of us can come near to hitting the notes. Basically, we don't so much sing songs that we like but rather we sing songs that we know - they're not always the same thing, unfortunately (which might explain the L&M lyrics).

Re: Tom Waits and drunkeness. Yeah, I heard he brushes his teeth with bourbon in the morning. Did you know he was born in a barroom, or was it the back seat of a cab, or an empty car of a lonely freight train, and his mom who was a prostitute or a hobo fed him moonshine out of a babybottle?
