Would you be willing to trade a CD-R for a CD-R of Just Another Asshole, or do you want the original vinyl?

Jeff Sumner (Jeff Sumner), Monday, 13 January 2003 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Does anybody know where I might get Jerky Visions of the Dream by Howard Devoto/ whether it's good enough to bother looking for in the first place?

Ferg (Ferg), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 00:17 (twenty-three years ago)

can't help you jens (although i might have a spare cristina 'disco clone'). anyway, i think liaisons dangereuses is about to be reissued and the y pants lp was on neutral rather than 99.

Jerky Visions of the Dream by Howard Devoto

i've never heard it but over the last decade it must be one of the records i always seem to see in second hand vinyl emporiums so it shouldn't be too hard to find. the fact that it's always being resold might suggest it is less than great but i'm just speculating.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 00:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh arr, I've never bothered looking for vinyl because I don't have a record player anymore. Dunno if it ever got a CD release but it's nowhere to be found on Soulseek. Tar.

Ferg (Ferg), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 00:58 (twenty-three years ago)

jens!

Jerky Versions Of The Dream is *FANTASTIC* - maybe not quite as good as Real Life or The Correct Use Of Soap but arguably better than Time's Up, Secondhand Daylight, Magic Murder & The Weather, either of the Luxuria albums or Buzzkunst I reckon!

There have been rumours of it being re-released on CD for ages but sadly nothing seems to have materialised and the old CD version has reportedly been changing hands on E-Bay for £70+, so if you do see a copy of it floating about at a reasonable price I suggest you grab it!

"Jerky Versions of the Dream" sells for upwards of £70??? I still see this on vinyl in the bargain bin! I'm talking under $5.00. Maybe after all these years I should buy a copy.

Sean (Sean), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

The *CD* has been reported as selling for >£70 on e-bay. The CD seems to be a lot rarer and a lot more desirable than the vinyl in this case (a bit like Lick My Decals Off Baby in this respect)

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

You should buy it 'though - but you should buy it because it's a fuckin' good album!
