THANK YOU for acknowledging Silkworm's "Italian Platinum" on that terrific list of yours. Has Albini been finer? One could ask the same question about Andy's guitar solos. It's ranked high among my 2002s as well, up there with Oneida and the Hot Snakes. Italian Platinum got no respect at all and I think it's only because there's no pretty cover art ala "Lifestyle."

Don Cherry, Jack Nitzsche, and Fridge... some names that really please the weary eye after a sleepless night

Lot of good stuff in here...I'm glad somebody else liked the new Melvins. Quix*o*tic I heard only once and found disappointing, what was it you liked? (Aside from their theft of Jonathan*Fire*Eater's *s.)

You really thought NMH was THAT good?
I love Royal Trux, and both of NMH's solo albs have their moments for me, but I'm real curious to hear what you have to say about Plays That.
I guess I'm asking you to defend it's hon-men, but only because I'd love to be able to enjoy it more, so give me some things to listen for when I get home tonight.

The Dead C.: New Electric Music (Language Recordings)
Wire: Read & Burn 01/02 (pinkflag)
Rocket From the Tombs: The Day The Earth Met... (Smog Veil)
Don Cherry: Orient (Get Back)

The Rocket CD is probably my fave thing this year. Still need to hear the Sightings thing.

Was Silkworm the band that Consonant opened for this summer? If so they sucked. (at least now, don't know about in the past)
