What's the longest you've ever kept a CD in the CD player (thru intertia, compulsion, whatever)?

spring break '99, I may have listened ONLY to Sleater-Kinney's Hot rock on CD.

I think I changed it up tapewise a bit though. Just for a breather.

One week?! pwhaw, the deep recesses of the 6-disc changer in my living room contain CDs whose cases have probably already been recycled by now

oh, now that I have a 5-cd changer I may have left something in longer but nothing got played with so little interuption. I've probably left Beggars Banquet in all month. But I played a hell of a lot of other CDs.

I left a Kinks CD in the big family CD player for so long I thought it got lost. Probably about six months. I found it Christmas morning.

I listened to Aimee Mann - Bachelor No. 2 compulsively for like, a year or so when it came out - I doubt it left the 6-disc changer during that time.

The First Day - David Sylvian / Robert Fripp 1993
from the middle of August, when I purchased it, til the end of September. It only came out of the cd player when I finally got my hands on the cd singles for Jean the Birdman.

After buying Life Without Buildings' Any Other City, it stayed in my single-disc car player for nearly three weeks. And it did play anytime I wasn't listening to a radio station.

It gets to a point where you're like "again - i can't believe i'm listening to this AGAIN!" but you acquiesce. Does it get easier or harder to acquiesce, the longer you leave it in there? I think it varies actually. And then maybe you acquiesce out of sheer provocation to yourself: "I dare you to let that whole thing play again!"

When I REALLY like something I carry it around with me, and put it in OTHER PEOPLE'S CD players

Modern Life Is Rubbish by Blur, which possibly caused long term psychological damage
