Have you forgotten how great the Furries can be?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 9 February 2003 19:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I will never ever forget. I will say that somebody really needs to light a fire under their ass or they should just stop touring. Otherwise, GODS GODS GODS etc.

Wasn't the last album a bit boring though? After the madhead pop thrills of Guerilla and Radiator I was a bit miffed.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 9 February 2003 21:01 (twenty-three years ago)

are these that indie band?

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 9 February 2003 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

ice hockey hair, definitely

indie? hohohoho no not really.

play it cool, definitely.

"Wasn't the last album a bit boring though?"

Aside from "Radiator", I find all their recs are fleetingly inspired, but unsatisfying.

IHH > D > HLP > PIC

"Rings" was absolutely ace. They have less ballads on their previous records, but those ballads were often pretty flat. The ones on "Rings" rule, though. And "Sidewalk Serfer Girl" is their best song ever.

I fear this might be their peak, though.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 10 February 2003 02:02 (twenty-three years ago)

ice hockey hair, especially live, its an incredible song...
although demons with the video is quality
come to think of it they all have great videos...

i also thought rings around the world was a huge let down, even though it did have some really good songs (a touch sensitive in particular)

i've said this loads of times before on ilx,but i cannot stress enough that anyone who even half likes the furries should get mwng,it is by far and away their best album, probably my favourite of all time...

robin (robin), Monday, 10 February 2003 03:46 (twenty-three years ago)

but you can't sing along to mwng, it it has thoughts of knights jousting running through my head any time i listen to it. it is their gorky's record but they don't do gorky's nearly as well as gorky's do.

Ymaelodi A'r Ymylon is wonderfully sing/gargle-along-able.

Aside from "Radiator", I find all their recs are fleetingly inspired, but unsatisfying.

Completely seconded (assuming you mean Radiator is satisfying and not not inspired!) . It's so annoying that I got Radiator first then bought Fuzzy Logic, Guerrilla, and Mwng hoping any of them would be as good.

"(assuming you mean Radiator is satisfying and not not inspired!)"

yes that was what i meant, radiator is their best rec.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:41 (twenty-three years ago)

i have heard gorky's and really like some of their stuff, especially gorky 5,but i think the comparison is superficial...
it does take a few listens to get really into mwng though, its worth the effort...
