(just posted abt this to ile before realizing it might deserve its own thread here)

in this interview Gus Van Sant mentions plans to remake the film Psycho yet again, only this time in a "punk rocker setting". so, casting call:

norman bates = ?
marion crane = ?
sam lomis (the boyfriend) = ?
lila crane (the sister) = ?
detective argobast = ?
highway patrolman =?
car salesman = ?

courtney is such an obvious shoe-in for marion that i sort of hope it's not her but i also sort of hope it is.

Uh, didn't Gus already do his Psycho remake, with Vince Vaughn? And didn't it tank?

hstencil, Sunday, 9 February 2003 22:41 (twenty-three years ago)

yes but this one will have courtney (or not)

I'd wager Van Sant is kidding.

hstencil if by "tank" you mean "succeed wildly even though nobody saw it" then yes

We've finally found the one person who liked Van Sant's version of Psycho.

(haha ally nobody noticed my defense on that "name a movie nobody on ile likes" thread because i dazzle-camouflaged it by rating Titanic in the same post. that's right: ph34r me etc)

YOU GAVE US THE OL' RAZZLE DAZZLE! You dastardly fiend! etc.

I think they should cast Billy Joe Green Day as Norman Bates. He looks pretty dead in the eyes, if you know what I mean.

But that means we'd have to see him in a dress!

Gus has lost his mind. He's going to become the Lee Mavers of cinema....insisting on re-making "Psycho" until it matches up the version "in his mind."
