dunce's guide to bootlegging: tech help please

pleeze help: if i want to mash up some cheap bootlegs, whats the best programme to use? want something basic, cheap n nasty. something free actually. fruity loops? i cant really see how that would work but...
how do you go about the whole process?

The problem you'll have with floops is no sample editing capability. i can only recommend PC shiat but Soundforge is probably your best wave editor. Acid would be a good idea for putting them together for its time stretch / tempo change angle. They are relatively costly though.

What was that noise? Did somebody say "warez"? No, sorry, it was just a draft. Must get these windows fixed.

Mac:::: get Deck, it's like the poor man's Protools and v easy to use. There's a new version out that works with OS X. Peak also might come in handy for adding FX and stretching the tempo. You might even have some success using Ableton Live for this type of thing.
