I'm sure there are worse album titles and worse covers (I mean, this looks like they're trying to parody Alan Parsons or something), but the two together just touched me in a very ugly place. Can you think of anything worse? Post here!

That's horrible enough on its own.

the title isn't that bad, but that image is anything but miraculous.

Oddly both done by once-respectable graphics firm, Hipignosis (responsible for some of Pink Floyd's more memorable sleeves). Even more embarassing is the fact that when you search out the Cranberries' BURY THE HATCHET album (the one above with the eyeball) CD-NOW, it actually says: "warning explicit cover!", as if you can see the guy's bait'n'tackle or something. Pathetic.

http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dre900/e982/e98270f1y2q.jpgthe songs on this ain't bad, but the title makes it very ominous. It's actually a concept album about the Mormon faith.

Wouldn't be that terrible if it actually mirrored the music found within it in some way.

Now don't get me wrong......I love the Stranglers more than I love several members of my own family (not saying much, really) and I think this is a great album (notably for "Ice Queen"), but I've always hated its title/cover combo. For a start, it's just not especially clever. Secondly, the art is so LITERALIST (a giant sculpted EAR! GEDDIT? AURAL!!?! GEDDIT?)

For a start, PiL didn't have too many tracks that could really be described as "hits." Secondly, "...so far" is pretty unoriginal. Thirdly, if I'm not mistaken, this was the final album to bear PiL's name on the sleeve (didn't it come *AFTER* 1992's THAT WHAT IS NOT....itself bearing a poor sleeve?)...thus rendering the "..so far" sort've moot (much like Van Halen naming their best of "Volume I"). Lastly, look at the cover image......did Lydon just have his 9 year old nephew design it? CRAP!

That PIL cover is by Reg Mombassa, a bloody legend...
He was actually a member of Mental As Anything if that triggers any memories... not his best work... :)

(A lot of these above covers aren't that bad, though... especially the PiL, Bobby Brown, and Vanilla Ice.)
