HA!
I'm getting schooled by the wisdom up in here. You people pick apart the nitty gritty.

you missed the memo; all newbs are supposed to be open abt their professional and intimate relationships fm the start, then you have to start acting abusive for at least two weeks before we pretend to notice you

(I've been here almost three months I think)

Yes! We have a special Welcoming Committe just for this. Would you like the massage or pedicure?

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'll take the pedicure.

My Pitchfork hatred is personal and petty. They hired me as an unpaid newswriter and demanded ridiculous amounts of work. When sending out emails demanding these ridiculous amounts of work from volunteer newswriters, they addressed me as "smurf."

I am not a smurf.

I find it fucking fatiguing to have to dig through a reviewer's personal life and decode vague symbolism before I know what they're trying to say. To be fair, they review music that isn't reviewed everywhere else, and there is the occasionally excellent piece of writing. On the whole, I give them a 5.0

Anyway... I'm 27, live close to NYC in Jersey, work as a writer and editor and play guitar in a band called Knife Attack. (we need a singer)

The stuff that matters most to me, in chronological order, from the top of my head: Off the Wall/Thriller era Michael Jackson, Men at Work, Bruce Springstein, old Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Melvins and early 90s grunge, Pixies, Beck, Fugazi, Portishead, Minutemen, Tom Waits, Notwist, Dan the Automator, Shellac, and AMON TOBIN.
