Which back alley would it be?

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 10 March 2003 03:38 (twenty-three years ago)

What are they doing with their hand on my scrotum, that's my question.

Of the three bands, I imagine all would be pretty enjoyable. As much as I'm intrigued by Turbonegro, their Apocalypse Dudes album simply didn't measure up to all the hype (sorry, purists!) I think Frankie Goes to Hollywood would be the best choice.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 10 March 2003 03:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, scrotum and FGTH just make a natural combination.

Davlo (Davlo), Monday, 10 March 2003 03:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Rammstein. Cos zey are ze Jhermon equivalent uf ze Dafe Mattews Bend.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 10 March 2003 03:59 (twenty-three years ago)

No, seriously. I'll happily go to a triple bill of these three, because I'll try anything once, twice or three times.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This kind of crime could only happen in San Francisco. And I think Rammstein would be the 'wrong answer'.

Millar (Millar), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Turbonegro is the only choice possible, and I don't even have a scrotum.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I would consider donating my scrotum and its contents to anyone who could get me tickets to either of the New York Turbonegro shows or the San Francisco one. I've got tickets to the Philly one already. The new album is fantastic!

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:21 (twenty-three years ago)

fag hag

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Me or Ally?

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Both of us. I could get you tickets.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:32 (twenty-three years ago)

tickets, pfffft. i want a denim sailor suit!

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I could get you that more easily than tickets.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Can I watch?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you being dirrty?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 04:56 (twenty-three years ago)

he's filthy filly

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 10 March 2003 05:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Ride 'em cowboy.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 March 2003 05:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a sailor suit but it's not denim. I think it's german though!

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 March 2003 05:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Kris is secretly the lead singer for the Leather Nun.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 March 2003 05:34 (twenty-three years ago)

or a charter member of the midnight NAMBLA

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 10 March 2003 05:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm, I've seen Turbonegro, and I guess I wouldn't have any urge to see them again.
Particularly not now, after they released that awful "Apocalypse Dudes" album.

Who has the shortest concerts? Whoever that is, they win.

As for the hand to scrotum thing, I'm going to assume by "scrotum", you mean "bucket of popcorn"

Øystein Holm-Olsen (Øystein H-O), Monday, 10 March 2003 07:27 (twenty-three years ago)

why is everybody so down on Apocalypse Dudes? I like it better than Ass Cobra...and I liked Ass Cobra a lot

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 10 March 2003 07:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I just thank God that the Strokes weren't an option.

Lithium Lunchbox (Lithium Lunchbox), Monday, 10 March 2003 07:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Depends who had a hand to my scrotum. If she was hot, then I'd choose not to watch any of them. :-)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Monday, 10 March 2003 11:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Apocolypse Dudes is fantastic, isn't that the one with Don't Say Motherfucker Motherfucker and Get It On and Age of Pamparius? You people are all fucking soft if you don't like those songs.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And how can you argue with a track titled "Rendezvous with Anus"?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think most people are down on Apocalypse Dudes, just crazy Norwegians.

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

OK, if I could wrangle tickets to the show at the Mercury Lounge, who would be in?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 10 March 2003 20:10 (twenty-three years ago)

2 for me!

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 March 2003 21:11 (twenty-three years ago)

TURBONEGRO. Just bought "Apocalypse Dudes" last week and was totally sold. Hi purists!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:02 (twenty-three years ago)

TURBONEGRO.

matt riedl (veal), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:08 (twenty-three years ago)

One day I will get an album of theirs. I know I've heard SOMETHING.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

It would take more than one hand to get a good grip of my scrotum.

Lithium Lunchbox (Lithium Lunchbox), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:26 (twenty-three years ago)

(See, sometimes I do let others make the obvious joke!)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:30 (twenty-three years ago)

You know, a goofball like me would have to point to the 400 lb gorilla sitting on the couch at tea time.

Lithium Lunchbox (Lithium Lunchbox), Monday, 10 March 2003 22:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I would happily watch any of these bands! (um, watch them perform music, that is, not any of the usual things people might be doing in back alleys)

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 06:56 (twenty-three years ago)

turbonegro - ever seen the movie? inzane

roger adultery (roger adultery), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 06:58 (twenty-three years ago)

This must be a trick question. If someone had their hand to my scrotum, wouldn't I already be at a Turbonegro concert?

JS Williams (js williams), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 08:45 (twenty-three years ago)

What I want to know is this:
How rough is an A&R reps life when he has to threaten peoples scrotums in order to drum up support for the bands he represents?

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:16 (twenty-three years ago)

quite simply -- chop off that hand!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Smartest thing I've read in this thread, so far.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:26 (twenty-three years ago)

(*my* pleasure, m'Lord)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I would ask the person to tickle my scrote.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

" I would ask the person to tickle my scrote " -- with the chopped-off hand ?! (yes! yes!! yesss!!!)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:49 (twenty-three years ago)

work the nub.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Geir - I think you were temporarily possessed by the spirit of Bill and Ted when you typed your last post..... 'hot'? My ageing uncle calls women 'birds' and never ceases to revolt with his tales of 'hot birds'. Ack.

In answer to the question, it really depends whose hand was cradling my scrotum. I never really fancied FGTH, so it would depend on what I was watching them do, really.......

russ t, Tuesday, 11 March 2003 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

work the nub.

Amputee Orgy of the Damned!"

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 19:29 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
THREAD REVIVE! (for no good reason ...)

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:58 (twenty-three years ago)

If the hand in question was placed gently on my scrotum, and oiled, and moving in gentle circles, I'd watch any damn band in the world. You catch more flies with honey, you know.

ANGUS (kenan), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:02 (twenty-three years ago)

i think that we should add Accept (BALLS TO THE WALL!) to the above-referenced list!

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Does Rammstein have a gay connection? The name alone makes me want to say yes.

Sean (Sean), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Rammstein R GAY

SplendidMullet (iamamonkey), Monday, 21 April 2003 04:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Considering their songs Bück Dich and Rein Raus, their name is probably their *least* obvious gay reference...

Siegbran (eofor), Monday, 21 April 2003 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Rammstein are really gay? I thought they were part of The New Wave of Fake Gay.

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Naw, its: "New New Wave of Fake Macho pretending to be Fake Gay but is really a bunch of Bisexuals who have never had a hetero experience or one of those Suede-ish" thangs.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:12 (twenty-three years ago)

But the Gay theory would explain why when she asks if

Will you 'til death be her rider/
Her lover too, to stay inside her

he responds...

NEVER!

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:13 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
I just got two bands on my label opening slots for Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I'm heartened by this and multiple other threads on ILM, because I fear that they're going to be hacks and its going to be awful.

Xii (Xii), Thursday, 10 July 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

TURBONEGRO— The guy lights firecrackers in his ass!
Why is nobody talking about TURBONEGRO'S NEW ALBUM, Scandinavian Leather ?

Scaredy Cat, Thursday, 10 July 2003 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Frankie say: "RELAX"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 10 July 2003 21:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I was figuring I'd just get to it. After all, it'll be a big show. Its a worthwhile booking.
