Fantastic. Reminds me of walking around NYC on a hot summer's day. I say classic. The composer is apparently well known - can anyone suggest more stuff or similar stuff?

It's the onkly thing I have By Krystoff Komeda so I can't make further recomendations but would be keen on them.

It was apparantly a big influence on the last Stereolab album (sound dust).

check out 'The Genius of Komeda' album by Swedish band Komeda. unsurprisingly, they quite like him. they sound a lot like stereolab.

Is that a band or the polish composer?

komeda the band, who are so-so, not a patch on komeda the composer guy (who, sadly, i don't have enough by, only the rosemarys baby soundtrack and a couple of bits on a tape somewhere)

'Astigmatic' is the KK jazz alb to get, tho' it isn't always that easy to find. It features the great Polish trumpet player Tomasz Stanko, who also recorded his own excellent tribute alb to KK a few years back.

Got an email from a friend about Komeda.

Komeda wise there is a tribute Lp on MPS records with various bands playing tribute to the man,Michael Urbaniak etc- it's rare expect to pay at least £50- also worth a look and listen is Urbaniaks live lp on Muza where he does a live version of Komedas crazy girl-again rare but essential!
