Or: Albums that came out a long time ago but none of your friends ever bothered to play them for you, and so you somehow missed out on them, and have finally discovered them for yourself and are very very pleased with what you hear.

For me, it's The Cure's Disintegration. Jesus I wish I had had this CD when I was a teenager. It's damned near perfect.

Hmm, I constantly find albums like that.
But the last ones to really blow me over that I should've heard ages ago are Robert Rich's "Drones" or Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "The Inflated Tear"

Incidentally I'm listening to Kate Bush's "Hounds Of Love", which I first heard last year... Another one that blew me away, it is.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "The Inflated Tear"

he he...this is one of my favorite rekkids. I remember when I first heard the intro to the song "Inflated Tear"; I was in a coffee shop and before I thought it through, I actually said "SSSHHHH, I'm trying to listen!" I felt like such a tool; but it was well worth it for that song.

I'd have to list about 90% of my collection

I never quite "got" Peter Gabriels' "So" first time around. I mean, sure, he was OK and all, but it isn't until recently that I have discovered how brilliant the album actually is

Roger,
whats the Coyne record that is outtakes or unreleased stuff from the seventies?(maybe Brilliant Extremes?) I lost it and haven't heard it in 20 years and you just made me realise i want it.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 13 March 2003 00:44 (twenty-three years ago)

soooo many. But none quite so profoundly so as Beggars Banquet. Runner-up not-by-the-Stones would be Aerosmith's "Rocks," especially side 2. I wish I'd been well-adjusted enough to enjoy this stuff in high school. It would have been a very different time.

Siamese Dream. But I was only five when it came out.
