Kneejerk responses = geez, I'm awful with these...I get too fired up over too many things "hip-hop", I need help. I also get kinda overworked when people reviewing Buckethead's material refer to "the bucket" and state that "he's not Slash" in lieu of actually discussing any of the music.
Bugbears = I don't actually know what this means, but "bugbears" sound like cute little cartoon characters promoting sharing and friendship and shit.

personal prejudices: let's see... at one time, if something was on the radio, it was automatic sell-out shit. underground music was the only music worth considering because it wasn't a commodity. i can remember deciding to dislike the archers of loaf because they wanted too much money for a show guarantee. i remember disliking bands for just wanting a show guarantee period. i see to also remember a band's politics suddenly being all important. are they sxe? are they vegan? pro-blah? i remember suddenly being too cool for sonic youth and pavement as well.
ah youth, (not that i'm any better now. just different.)m.

that when listening to local music, no matter how interesting, i should be listening to the latest bleeding-edge etcetera from germany/london/etc which is obv. better (especially since, say, nobody writes about NZ music, or at least in the, uh "ILM way", it doesn't exist as a vital/dynamic/etc).
