didn't we do this? anyway my answer is the same. either Graham Coxon or any of the Lucksmiths

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 14 March 2003 06:11 (twenty-three years ago)

electric sound of jim

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 14 March 2003 06:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I sort of fancy:

Mark from the Lucksmiths.
Wyatt from the Aislers Set.
Robert Schneider from the Apples in Stereo...
Craig from Lifter Puller.
Stevie from Belle & Sebastian
The cute one from Call & Response
Jason from Grandaddy

err.. maybe some weird choices there...

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 14 March 2003 06:11 (twenty-three years ago)

yay for me

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 14 March 2003 06:12 (twenty-three years ago)

oh, we did? sorry.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 14 March 2003 06:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Horton Jupiter.

I am so lame and predictable. When oh when will I start fancying other blokes again? Someone needs to start posting pictures of, like, the singer out of Of Montreal and wotnot to remind me that there are other boys. A friend of mine was telling me about some Norwegian dronerockers that I should be getting excited, but I've forgotten their name. :-(

kate (suzy), Friday, 14 March 2003 08:32 (twenty-three years ago)

The lad from Lamb (and the girl) stirs up unclean thoughts every time.

russ t, Friday, 14 March 2003 12:37 (twenty-three years ago)

The lad from Lamb is a honey and a peach. Not very indie though - indie boys don't do it for me

j0e (j0e), Friday, 14 March 2003 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

...apart from Tim Burgess and early Ian Brown.....?

russ t, Friday, 14 March 2003 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Nah. I like 'em a bit more clean cut.

(Although I hearted Damon for about five years. And still would given the chance despite his twat credentials)

Phil, I dibbed the cute one from Call and Response years ago. So back off, bitch. RRROWR!

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Someday I am going to do an album of songs about hopeless crushes on such indie boys. (I already have at least two songs written.)

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:17 (twenty-three years ago)

There are not enough pictures on this thread!

kate (suzy), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes! Yes! FINALLY! Almost as satisfying as finding Ju-Lo's butt photos.

http://www.lorecordings.com/images/theycamefromthestars/stars.gif

All the way over on the left. You can't really see much of him. Except you can sort of make out the outline of his nose. His annoying little button nose that ruins his perfect DDB-hood. Best I could do, sorry.

kate (suzy), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:25 (twenty-three years ago)

The cute one from Call and Response:

http://www.callandresponsemusic.com/images/danbuffalo.jpg

Although the last time I saw him (er I mean them) he wasn't as cute as the first time. He looked way less awkward onstage. Oh well.

Chris P (Chris P), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Someday I am going to do an album of songs about hopeless crushes on such indie boys.

LD Beghtol has already done one of these. AND I AM MENTIONED!

(Dan C&R is v cute, yes. And seems so sweet. Look! You can cyberstalk him here ... also check out his solo project here.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:42 (twenty-three years ago)

God bless you, JtN.

Chris P (Chris P), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait, what are the details on this Beghtol project?

Chris P (Chris P), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:47 (twenty-three years ago)

It's just an unreleased song listing all the boys he wants to marry.
:(

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Paul in Santa Cruz (Paul in Santa Cruz), Saturday, 15 March 2003 07:16 (twenty-three years ago)

We could fill an entire album with songs about crushes on indie boys, and we have - in fact, an album and two EPs. But I guess that I don't count because I'm not a gay boy. Yet again my life is worthless, thanks guys.

kate (suzy), Saturday, 15 March 2003 10:12 (twenty-three years ago)

russ i saw the gig he (and she) did on his 21st birthday
at phoenix festival in 1996. he was off his f*ckin face.
it was 11 a.m. in a tent. the lights were ace.

one of my fave fest memories.

piscesboy, Saturday, 15 March 2003 10:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Kate, that's bullshit. You totally count. I just haven't heard your albums. So but do you name names on your songs?

Chris P (Chris P), Saturday, 15 March 2003 19:47 (twenty-three years ago)

(I'm still waiting for someone to vote for Jad Fair)

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 15 March 2003 19:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, names are named.

1) Be My Bad Boyfriend - Bobby (as in G)
2) Boycrush Pusher - Peter Holmstrom (Dandy Warhols
3) Goldcrush - some cunt from Oxford
4) Hilton Betelgeuse - like, duh

That's all I can remember right now cause I'm not going to go and dig our setlist out of my gigbag...

That Mull Historical Society guy is so dreamy. Are his records any good?

Arthur (Arthur), Sunday, 16 March 2003 01:26 (twenty-three years ago)

MHS's first full-length, Loss, is indeed very good. Quirky, tuneful stuff. The arrangements have a lot going on in them, and some critics find the result "overproduced"; but I don't agree -- and even the toughest critics generally acknowledged that there's a set of well-crafted songs buried in there somewhere.

The new album, Us, is just out and I've only heard a couple of mp3s somewhere (google "Mull Historical Society" and Us -- and look for a bbc website that comes up near the top in the search results). I like what I've heard, plus the new album has some advantages over the first one: the arrangements are leaner (but still interesting), and the album sports a shot of Colin's pretty face instead of a dog in a wig.

I'm not sure I find any shaggable right now (though Lucy's closest...Smells Like seXors!) but when I saw Conor Oberst on the street I did have some strange desire to stare at him for ages. damn NYC crowds...lost him after a block.

Nick H, Sunday, 12 October 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Jeff Buckley (one of the few people I've ever had an embarrassing rock-star crush on)
Conor Oberst (boys are at their most attractive when either super-confident alpha males or emotional vulnerable cuties you can hug, and I guess indie boys don't do the former very well at all)
Rufus Wainwright (possibly solely because he is (more) attainable than the others)
Sune Rose Wagner

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 12 October 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

My former answers to this thread are just disgusting, I really don't know what came over me. Temporary insanity. Moderators, please delete that period of my life?

I don't fancy indie boys any more. I fancy historical program presenters. I should be shot even MORE now.

kate (kate), Monday, 13 October 2003 09:07 (twenty-two years ago)

"the cock" is latex, though, is it not?"

i think its not!

Jens (brighter), Monday, 13 October 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

four years pass...

Are you a dirty indie boy?

If so, your luck could be in with the rauchiest indie-lover in MegaBabedom.

Flaming hot red-head Alex Sim-Wise is a self-confessed nu rave groupie and lover of the bizarre, geeky, fun and frolicsome.

This Londoner is proud of her ginger roots and according to her ace MySpace page is, ‘fitter than your average ginger by 0.03%’.

We reckon she needs her fit-o-meter checked out as we don’t know a more heavenly hottie of the carrot-top variety than our double-barrelled beauty.

The ping-tight perfect poses of Alex have won her a legion of fans and it’s hardly surprising she was crowned Playboy UK Cyber Girl of the Year in 2006.

Her off-beat views earned her a monthly column in the minor muckfest mag, Front, and she’s lived it large in ITV2’s Generation Xcess, admitting on camera she liked boys to kiss her bum.

Form an orderly queue, gents. After checking out the EXCLUSIVE vid and pictures, have a look at her MySpace

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 13:12 (eighteen years ago)

Eh? How'd this get revived? Curiouser and curiouser.

Well, now that it is, I contribute a shaggable indie boy thusly:

What does "ping-tight" mean?

DJ Mencap, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 13:19 (eighteen years ago)

Sub editor was desperately searching for internet terms that sound a bit sexual and "ping" was the best he could come up with, presumably.

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

Sum fings wot I do:

Model. Not only that but I does model and WIN PRIZES for it. Result.
Write. I once wrote War and Peace backwards in my sleep. Unfortunately it was all in crayon.
Appear on the telly in a haphazard manner. Apparently I'm a 'presenter'. Yeah.
DJ. I do this at a rock night called Hot Damn every third Friday at the Purple Turtle in Camden. I might be doing it other places too, watch this space...
Dance. Badly. You've all seen the videos.

Some facts:

I once grew a minature donkey on my left hand. It was a great talking point at dinner parties.

My full name is Alexandra Agnetha Anni-Frid Benny Bjorn Dustin Hoffman Sim-Wise... my Mum was a big fan of the Bay City Rollers you see.

While drunk once, I discovered the cause of the black death. Perversely, if was Sandy Toksvig's fault when she lit a menthol cigarette that time in 1978.

I am not cool. You may think that I am, but it is all a beautiful lie fabricated by clowns and gypsies.

I can converse with farm animals using only the intricacies of mind control. You may be inspired by the fact that this also includes chickens, who - as we all know - are notoriously hard.

The above knowledge has helped me a lot in my modelling career.

I am an actual Playboy model. This is true, not sarcasm, although quite how a ginge like me won Playboy UK Cyber Girl of the Year I shall never know...

I am clearly Mick Hucknall in disguise, you just don't know it yet.

If I could, I would be reborn as Gary Coleman. I think he would make an excellent toilet attendant as he is the perfect size to fit under the door if you run out of toilet paper. Fun times WOULD be had.

I write for FRONT magazine and it is probably the best job I have ever had, beating Mormon bookseller and Pizza Hut waitress by a small margin.

I have never dealt crack. Not even to school children. That's quite an achievement in this day and age.

I appear in a lot of places, I do it mainly by the power of magic.

Listen to the Banksy, he is a legend. Fame is not the be-and-end-all. Big Brother is for cretins and celebrity these days is a short-lived fast train to a mental home. Just look at Britney Spears. Live the dream by all means, but be intelligent with it. Then you can politely ask all the 'haters' to begone with their bum buggery. Word.

Who I'd like to meet:
Stephen Hawking, Therman Merman, Miguel from Fatchicksinpartyhats, ASDA employees, Jesus Christ, pikeys, talking dogs, Ignatius J. Reilly, Seventh Day Adventists, Azerbaijanians, Noel Edmond's stylist, the rats that live in Russell Brand's hair, Gary Glitter, and anybody interesting :)
Michael Cera because he is amazingly hot:
Kings Of Leon because they are amazingly hot:
Synyster Gates because he is amazingly hot, but not as good on guitar as Aaron Grimes:

People I DON'T want to meet:

BANDS WHO SPAM. If you're that desperate for fans you must be shit.
GUYS WHO ARE INTO PEEING. It's not big and it's not clever is it Ian Watkins.
TXT SPEAKERS. The english language has vowels. Try using them some time.
FOOTBALLERS AND WAGS. I detest everything you stand for.
RNB LOVERS. I hate it. End of story.
GIRLS ONLYers. We all know that you're some middle aged fat git from Slough and not the horny babe you claim to be.
YOU. Asshole.

DJ Mencap, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 13:25 (eighteen years ago)

Her Myspace contains, amongst interests, "hating my dad". Which is weird, because you wouldn't expect a woman who earns her living by taking off her clothes to have any daddy issues, would you?
