I really hope this gets a DVD release - its just so fantastic you want to see it in as large an image as possible... i wonder who made/directed it? I'd love to see some more video's from whoever it is... this video takes a complete right angle to the walter stern/hype williams/chris cunningham dominated genre we usually see as being "different".

Ch-cheers.

this is going to be a kick-ass tie-in to a target commercial.

was debating whether this or "I'm Gonna Leave You" was gonna be the next single. Ace.

It's by "Shynola."

further proof (not that it was needed) that Shynola are aboslute genius godheads of video effects and animation (only the French outfits H5 and Alex & Martin can rival them) - great video for an okayish song! here's some stills:

DaveyC see http://www.shynola.com and bask in their glory - they're a small UK team but they've come up with some of the most ingenius concepts in music video over the last 3 years (Steve Malkmus 'Jo Jo's Jacket', Lambchop's 'Is A Woman', Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song' etc. etc/ - and THEN there's the Junior Senior video!)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 00:29 (twenty-three years ago)

i like the video, especially the faux-psychedelic chick-in-bikini bits. but still, it looks eerily like a target commercial at times.

your null fame (yournullfame), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 03:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Thanks for the link Steve - Shynola seem to have been busy over the last couple of years!

I agree that the pyramid song video was particularly fantastic... eerie and yet warm despite the subject matter... And the Quannum promo was feckin class - very fresh indeed.

Of course the current Commodore64-style pixels of the Junior Senior video is wicked too lad!

But the QOTSA video has more energy than all these vids combined... their best work i reckon!

Ch-cheers!

my fave is still the Steve Malkmus one - so many cute little ideas, esp. the little Westworld video game sequence

read thread, the name of 'who' is plastered amongst the responses.

The only thing I really like about that album is the intro. The quote "Welcome to KLON Clon Radio. We play the songs that sound more like everyone else than anyone else!"

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 27 April 2006 13:07 (twenty years ago)

That's funny, because the only thing I really like about that album is its ass-kicking riffs

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 27 April 2006 13:27 (twenty years ago)

the riffs are quite good.
