American girls and American guys will always stand up and salute;
Will always recognize
When we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head.

My daddy served in the army,
Where he lost his right eye.
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack.
A mighty sucker punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man we lit up your world like the Fourth of July.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
It's gonna feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Oh, Justice will be served and the battle will rage.
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A
'Cuz we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...

Of the Red, White and Blue..
Of my Red, White and Blue...

(3/2/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- After the success and controversy of Toby Keith's 2002 smash hit, "Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue," in which Keith sang about putting a "boot in the ass" of America's enemies, one would think that the outspoken singer was all for the impending war against Iraq. Not so.

"Probably the biggest thing that people don't realize about my situation on, that is, I'm as anti-war as the next guy," Keith said. "I really am. I'm not for ever having to go to war. If you have to go fight... If our President and our people that we've got elected... I have faith that they'll make the right decisions and if we do [go to war], then I think you've got to go in gung ho and protect as many of us as you can."

As Keith explained, his "Courtesy Of The Red, White and Blue" didn't have anything to do America's problems with Iraq. "'Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue' was written for the people that flew those planes into those buildings and that's it. It didn't have anything to do with Iraq or any of that."

Keith's current single, "Rock You Baby," is climbing up Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart this week at Number 22.

wonder how he felt the first time he realized that 'his' president and the government the American people 'elected' weren't really all that interested in putting the red white and blue boot up al Qaeda's ass after all? think that made him feel like his country sold him out, that his 'patriotic' song was just another damned lie?

yeah I don't think so either.
