from what i gather, it's the roots of reggae?

this link (http://debate.uvm.edu/dreadlibrary/lowe.html) gives a pretty good description, but what about good artists? is it still being performed today?

there's some interesting talk about the Nyabinghi, no where near comprehensive on this...

Can't go wrong with Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus. (I wouldn't say it's the roots of reggae, but nyabinghi drumming is prominent on many 'roots reggae' songs)

yeah, the two names i keep coming across are Ras Michael and Count Ossie.

my friend bought an ossie 3lp record for 40$ a while ago and he doesn't really like it. but he wants 40$ for it. with friends like that, who needs outrageous ebay prices

six years pass...

There's a copy of that Count Ossie LP jaxon was talking about lol 6 years ago on ebay right now. i'd pay $40 for it, but the starting bid is $55, which with shipping & all might be too much. shit is great. Mystic Revelation of Rastafari "Grounation"

The Dadawah tracks on the Trojan Nyabinghi compilation are astounding.
