Bin Laden to Launch Pop Career

Bin Laden is to launch a pop career - but it is only a relative of the world's most wanted villain.

Osama Bin Laden's niece Waffa is in talks with high profile executives, hoping to sign a lucrative record deal.

Madonna producer Nellee Hooper and All Saints' discoverer John Benson have shown interest in Waffa, who is a regular on the London party scene.

Benson says, "She has a very dusky and sultry voice and has real potential. It is hard for her with her name, but I am giving her some songs I think she could be a success.

"She is very polite and sweet and has recorded stuff in the States. It is adult pop." Waffa is said to look a little bit like Natalie Imbruglia, and is a US-educated lawyer, according to reports.

I think she should just go for it and adopt Bin Laden as her artist name. Instant classic! :-)

I know something about this but am not allowed to elaborate. Friend's sister gave Waffa an earful when Waffa tried to steal her (then) boyfriend. There are dozens of Bin Laden cousins.

(If my grandmother were still a live, I'm sure she'd comment on what a good looking man he is.)

Ya galba! Ya salam! Ya habibi!

(Unfortunately, my Arabic is rather limited.)

(That should be galbi not galba. I have no idea if "galba" is a word.)
