"Orchestra" as the remnants of ELO II are now known. They were only allowed to call themselves ELO II as long as Bev Bevan was in the band, but now he's not, they can't.

Also "The Verve."

wasn't there something about Celine Dion's Vegas show and some UK band?
I can't remember the names of either, maybe like, Muse or something, I don't know, I could do a google, but I won't.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 16:48 (twenty-three years ago)

yes, yes, Nordic - Pan Sonic's "A" certainly was brilliant, and put the pun into punk too

(there've been, for me, other A's that, contrarily to Pan Sonic's, just plain confused me every time I saw 'em in print all those years ago: Special AKA -- i mean, the very first thing the letters "AKA" always, ALWAYS brought to my mind then was the phrase "aftomat Kalashnikova"... for awhile i probbly even believed that *that* was what those letters were meant to stand for, somehow... must have been some weird side effect of having to undergo the 'course of compulsory military training' at the university, late-70s-early-80s i.e., which meant that I saw AK's practically every damn week for two years - as opposed to a copy of yer olde NME or MM that perhaps came my way twice or thrice a year...
oh, OK. sorry for digressing that far afield)
