C90: This is a Dangerous Place

The title of the thread may be a bad choice because "Thela Hun Ginjeet" may talk about the dirty city, but it doesn't sound very dangerous.

I'm looking for songs that describe the city as a dangerous and/or grimy place.

Give lyrics & song name/artist.

Examples:
"I want to take you down to the underside of the city
Where the sun doesn't shine & the moon isn't pretty
-
Deals going down, no checques no plastic
One thing's for sure never get what you're asking"
Downtown/Lloyd Cole

"On the concrete, an outcast
Blinded, mindless from some poison

Puts a rip into my jacket
'What do you got? Get it up or this gun gets let off'
'No - only got $2 for a show' then I start working my change - wanna go?

Bizarre, homemade - into my stomach, under the ribcage
He would shoot it just to prove he could
He could have used a knife, it's less likely to kill
Face to face
Understand - he was a man - but not for my $2, not on this street"
Thief/Robert Kidney

...

Ought to be a few VU & Pere Ubu numbers as well ...

Spent my whole life in the city
Where junk is king and the air smells shitty
People pukin' everywhere
Bars of blood, scabs and hell
Bodies wasted in the street
People dyin' on the street
But the suburban scumbags, they don't care
Just get fat and die their hair

Fear-I love living in the city

"Thela Hun Ginjeet" = anagram for "Heat in the JUNGLE"

"Heads I Win Tails You Lose", "Two at a Time", "Ambulance Song" and many others by Cop Shoot Cop

"Concrete Jungle" by the Specials

Nonplace Urban Field - one of Bernd Friedman's many aliases - apparently takes that particular view of the modern city as the starting point of their music

Last verse from Feed Yourself By The Rheostatics
Suburban sharks, they love their blood in the parks.
They want their peace. They want their druthers.
We've gotta be safe from all the junkies who rape
And all the blacks and single mothers.
Those welfare-types and punks will run.
They'll find a rank place with the immigrant scum.
A girl was murdered, the boy was hung.
That was my first summer that we owned a gun.

You can still look for the lyrics Alex.

I love the line in Safe From Harmby Massive Attack:
I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin' back at me To see me lookin' back at you.
but the song's video makes it seem far more dangerous. One of the all time grebtest videos.
