I am getting a post-punk band together, and I am looking for other people who are interested in the same records. I am more interested in your record collection and your ideas about music then your technical ability. This is what is speaking to me right now (in no particular order):

ESG: Your No Good
Liquid Liquid: Cavern
Joy Division: Colony
Section25: From A Hilltop
Public Image Limited: Careering/Public Image
Wire: Reuters
Pere Ubu: Final Solution/Heart Of Darkness
Killing Joke: Eighties
The Clean: Point That Thing Somewhere Else
Young Marble Giants: Include Me Out
Suicide: Cheree

I play guitar, but I am open to other things. I know a bit of theory and can play fairly well. I am not interested in export garage rock careerism, or scene cred. I just want to do something raw, strange, and energetic. Drop me a line if this is something you want to be involved with.

Do you have a van? can I live in your house?

If you'd said 'Birmingham' (the one in England) and a totally different list of records other than than Reuters (or just said Reuters on its own), I'd have been there in minutes.

Live in Walled Lake, and currently have at least people together including myself, who are into at least half of those bands, we're looking for a guitarist, (actually, we have a keyboard/synth, a sax, a harmonica, and some other stuff we'd like utilized and another member would help).

However, we're into a lot more then just post-punk, more then just rock for that matter.

Maybe we'll get in contact.

Mike, if I wasn't already in a band I would be down with your idea as I live downtown Detroit, am familiar with all mentioned bands, and like most of them. However, I can't divide my time up any more than it already is. (shameless plug--come see my band Capital Cities everyone any time we play). Good luck, though, and post the name of it if you do get a group together.
