As for the girls who like girls at your school, you probably don't know all of them, and among the ones you do, I'm willing to bet they think Le Tigre made electro-punk, not lesbianism, cool. Finding a cool gay band is validating, but I doubt it would make or break someone's sexuality...

Like, when kids listen to NIN they think the music is so good and the band so cool that they will actually put on black make up and dress in bizzare goth fashion. That's a pretty succesful influence for NIN!!!
So, can a band be SO cool that they might even be able to change something that we think of as unchangable? Le Tigre is probably the coolest band ever to mix their music with their sexual politics.
you may think i'm a tool, but this seems to me to be a perfectly valid scenario.

Cool enough? No. I'm not sure any external force is powerful enough to make someone gay. Certainly not Le Tigre. Sheesh.
But high schoolers (of BOTH sexes) are extremely impressionable. Perhaps the "lesbians" in your school just find support in Le Tigre. I use quotes around the word lesbians because I bet my strap-on that many of them are experimenting with their sexuality and wind up "straight" in a few years. Who knows?
Try "Fast and Frightening" by L7 -- that song makes dyke-dom sound like paradise.
