I've Got Elevation Baby!

This morning on the 88 bus to Brixton I was going through Oxford Circus in the sunlight. Front seat of an empty bus. When Serge's 'Cargo Culte' came onto the walkman. The strings, the voices, the guitars and the bass elevated me out of reading messages by foreigners on the big ad board "Get Well Soon ... Adrienne" "A Well Deserved Victory..." and into another life, another world, another movie of my life where going through downtown London on the 88 bus seemed like the only thing that a boy can do to maintain his cool.

What songs elevate you into a nice spring time movie as directed by Douglas Siirk?

I got chemicalled up with some mad smoke once with friend Tony. We had jetted out of the house immediately afterwards so he could buy a cd. In the HMV they were playing Tricky's Hell is Round the Corner. I could say that I was grounded after watching them but then again I would be lying!

Another cool moment this morning was standing at the bus stop listening to Cat Power 'Satisfaction' in Camden Town, standing in the middle of a sea of swarming zombie people all trying to get past me. Felt pretty damn cool.

On Friday as the bus drove by the Parliment buildings I gandered down at the growing anti-war protestors and signs that were left of dead babies, dead fathers, dead mothers, dead sons and daughters whilst Primal Scream 'Rise' was going through my walkman.

In the bath, lights turns off, Gorecki played very loud, the dying light of the day fading in and turning the bathroom a narcotic blue. The feeling of timelessness flows through. You could be a child or you can be an old man. Gorecki selects your memories for you.
