Steal your ideas from Darn!3773's "What Should I Write About" thread.

thats always the way
in theory there is a huge amount of music that i love and want to write about, but in practice decided what to write and getting started is impossible
good luck with it though...

Thing is, this is my third time.

First time I managed two posts - Nightmares On Wax's "Know My Name" and Hell Is For Heroes' "I Can Climb Mountains". XFM fucks with one's brain one frig of a lot. And then it either stopped or I posted something about Minuteman. Then it stopped.

The second was just me going 'ugh, miserable, ugh' and saying I liked the Delgados. Which really wasn't much different from ILX (BOM! BOM!)

This one has started with me posting a picture of a Partick Thistle pin badge.

God I hate blogs.

That is all.

Why, Dave?

New one: thingummy99.blogspot.com

Old ones: phatupzwanzig.blogspot.com

And I forgot the other one.

I really approve of blogs, I think the humble personal homepage has found a purpose other than here-is-a-picture-of-my-kat.

But at the same time, who actually sits there and reads all that shit?

Has anybody started a World's Most Pointless Blog thread yet?

Gatinha (rwillmsen), Tuesday, 25 March 2003 01:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I've been thinking lately of starting my fourth or fifth (I've lost track) blog thingey, though maybe this time I'll set an expiry date so it's not as depressing when I get fed up with the inevitable pointlessness that will no doubt ensue with said writing.

But I love other people's blogs--or anyway, find a lot of them entertaining and useful...and I strongly promote the idea overall.

s woods, Tuesday, 25 March 2003 02:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to hate them, but that was fear/ignorance/etc. they rock. Though I must confess I'd be afraid to get all confessional on them. But I like having an easy place to spew opinion, improve writing skills in public, etc.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 25 March 2003 03:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Agreed, and agreed. Confessional is no way to be. It's icky to read. (The absolute bottom of the barrel: "You won't BELIEVE what my scumbag boyfriend did to me!") These people write counter to the principal of improving your writing skills in public. The whole point of doing it in public is that fear of embarassment and shame is a powerful motivational tool. But then, the rule is also, don't make fun of people in public. So some bloggers run with that angle -- impunity.

This should be an ILE thread.
