Wouldn't it be Lovely Do Ri MeStreet Where You Live vs. 16 Going on 17Ordinary Man Eidelweiss
Personally, I can't split 'em. Best song there is probably Eidelweiss, but street Where You Live runs in close.
Well . . . whatcha reckon, ILMers?

You guys *do* know J Andrews was in the stage MFL but lost the part in the film MFL when the studio wanted Audrey Hepburn, whose singing voice is dubbed in by jobbing Julie Andrews impersonator Marni Nixon.

The nun can't sing, either.
Good point about the final shot though . . . hmm, maybe it is a good tune after all . . .

He just kind of went straight to video in all our estimations from then on.
I'm on the Lonely Goatherd/So Long, Farewell/I Am Sixteen tip though. I loathe CEM.
My Fair Lady I like more for the Shavian cartoon misogyny and class stuff. When I was about 12 I was really into Shaw.

1) I played Max Detweiler in our school's production (and got to sing the songs that were cut for the movie, "No Way To Stop It" and "How Can Love Survive?").
2) When the drama club went to see "My Fair Lady" at the Chanhassan Dinner Theatre, a bunch of assholes decided they were going to spend the bus ride back home spitting on me, resulting in everyone involved getting detention (INCLUDING ME). This is one of my worst memories of junior high (although the amount of shit I gave all of the teachers/administrative people involved was beyond classic; "I bet you if I was WHITE you wouldn't give me detention!" *cue uncomfortable shuffling and protestations*).

this is actually Mary Martin v Julie Andrews, as they're both embalmed movies of stage shows.
