jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 25 March 2003 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

i didnt find Salt n Pepa's voices sexy cos the whole B-girl thing tended to be about hollering and trying to sound as tough as the men

i suppose I was referring to this light Californian/West Coast accent that is prevalent in the tracks originall mentioned...i'm not really sure how accents work in the U.S. or how to place them, I can tell a Deep South accent but everything else sounds much the same to be honest. Would love some 'education' on this one...

I dunno if I'd call Kim Deal "sexy," but she's certainly done plenty to chew up and reframe Ohio talk. Terrifically so: see Sonic Youth "Little Trouble Girl."

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 25 March 2003 17:09 (twenty-three years ago)

If you think those accents are sexy you should just go to high school in New Jersey or something.
