Regarding Cleveland/Akron - mini proto-punk mecca of the 70's:

Rocket From the Tombs reunited for Disastodrome last month.

Glass harp just played a reunion gig last weekend. unfortunately, I didn't find out about it until yesterday. (If you don't know Glass Harp .. there's an urban legend that Hendrix once called Phil Keaggy the best guitarist in the world. Although probably not true, the fact that the legend exists is testimony.. http://www.snopes2.com/music/artists/keaggy.htm)

But wait, there's more... Tin Huey & Bizarros are playing a gig in April. (Oh man, I am ever fucking there.) As much as I hate Monkees-style reunions, Tin Huey have just gotten weirder in their old age.. I expect it to be nothing short of incredible. ..and Bizarros - FUCK!

.. So - could Devo be next? Electric Eels? Cramps? (any of these have dead key members?)

Most of you probably don't care ..

.. So - could Devo be next?

They reunited briefly in the late '90s.

Yes - as part of Lollapalooza wasn't it? I'm hoping more of pre-"Whip It" era Devo .. (and where I actually see them.)

I saw Devo play San Francisco just a few months ago! It was a free concert across the street from the courthouse in the middle of a weekday, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen!

The Cramps are either already touring, or fixing to tour this month. They've also got a new album out.

I didn't know the Cramps had split up.

They reunited briefly in the late '90s.

Devo have never officially broken up (then again, neither have the Police, for whatever that's worth). Devo simply got involved in other projects, and severed ties with their last record company. They do play out occaissionally (as they did last October).

the electric eels could get together, but they could never have Dave E back, their lead vocalist, who is a born again Christian. and without Dave E., it just wouldnt be the Eels.

at the end of the 90, the Electric Eels had talked about some sort of reunion thing with Morton and MacMahon. according to brian macmahon the plan was to have different band in every town become the eels, morton and macmahon teaching them the songs or whatever.

It would seem as if Dave E would have had to either become born-again or die of a knife wound.

But then, Crocus became a Jehova's Witness for a few years ...
