I played Euchre with Gunderson's dad a few months ago.

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 9 June 2003 17:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay Mark Gunderson!

The cheesy midi is kinda annoying.... "Rocked By Rave" is better I think.

TIME FOR US TO BUG OUT!!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Monday, 9 June 2003 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I love "Rocked by Rape". One of my favorite segments of The Dan speaking is the "wooly bully automatic truck-bomb" combination-of-words.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 9 June 2003 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I think fake turntable noises + less cheesy midi would make this fucking radio friendly.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Monday, 9 June 2003 18:03 (twenty-three years ago)

It already is radio friendly. I've played 'Rocked by Rape' on my show numerous times. I like 'The Fucking Moon', except for all cheesy chorus drops.

Dale the Merciless (cprek), Monday, 9 June 2003 18:07 (twenty-three years ago)

ECC is great; everyone needs to rush out and get the new album. If you search around his site, you can actually download a good chunk of the Gunderphonic album including early Bush Sr. recontextualizations and the early Herb Alpert/Public Enemy singles.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 9 June 2003 18:21 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a tiny little cut-up by him/them called "But I Don't Believe in Evolution" that's floating around and is AMAZING...

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 9 June 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw ECC do "Rocked by Rape" live, at an outdoor festival in Columbus, OH. He (Mark, right?) had these little sensor thingies hooked up to his fingertips, wired to a laptop, and he'd trigger the samples individually by making little pinching motions in the air. It reminded me of those "boy that looks rad"/(five minutes later)/"boy this is a waste of money" Nintendo glove controllers circa 1988.

"hard hitting losers"

duane, Monday, 9 June 2003 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Y'know...this bands name just sounds so Subgenius-esque; I'm amazed this hasn't ended up as part of an episode of Hour of Slack

Mark S to thread so he can talk about how he hates them. ;-)

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 13:29 (twenty-three years ago)

the live glove action is called "thimbletronics", must be seen to be believed.

the picture adorning the back cover of the original rocked by rape 7" is awesome (is it on the web?)

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I like to loop "Whole Lotta Royalty Payments" and watch the screen saver.

"I Don't Care" is another good one.

there was a big ECC interview on brave new waves the other night ... he seemed slightly arrogant but quite astute and funny. unfortunately i was absolutely off my fucking face when it came on -- does anyone know the name of this "default user" track he was talking about?
