So I got my copy of the Minor Thirds' Saskatchewan EP yesterday and it's great. So dreamy and nutty and imaginative.
Thanks Chris.

Hurrah! Let us indeed praise Mr. Piuma, his bandmates and their fine tunage.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 31 July 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

so does this mean that chris will look at ILM again? ;)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 31 July 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

does this mean their music uses lots of minor thirds ?

george gosset (gegoss), Thursday, 31 July 2003 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha! Sneaky sneaky. Ned had to tell me this thread was here or I never would have found it.

Um. Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it.

Plugging it: www.theminorthirds.com for the website and www.tapemountain.com/sask.html to order it (and many other fine discs). It's $2 and elaborately packaged.

Enough advertising. Back to your regularly scheduled discussion. Did Anthony get his copy yet?

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 1 August 2003 01:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Amazing how close to a real SK feeling they got on the EP without ever having been there, and Charlotte even pronounces Saskatchewan properly (and Chris is very close). I sure hope the tour happens.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 1 August 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Bryan, the accuracy (or lack thereof) in pronunciation thing is so very intentional...

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 1 August 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I mispronounce everything, because I talk funny.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 1 August 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

"Evuryting", then?

Chris P (Chris P), Friday, 1 August 2003 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
Just started downloading some of those free mp3's due to an AIM conversation with Chris. They're really rather good, aren't they?

Lynskey (Lynskey), Friday, 26 September 2003 11:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah, we got the CD from Chris and of course it's awesome. Then it got lost in all the crap in my car for awhile but then I found it again. Awesome.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 26 September 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

if i order a CD, can i get it autographed? or does it come with a pair of Chris' used underwear?

phil-two (phil-two), Saturday, 27 September 2003 03:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to hear it!

adaml (adaml), Sunday, 28 September 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Just downloaded a few tracks, and it's great. (Let's Not) Get It On is an excellent song title.

two weeks pass...
Heh, maybe I need to check this thread more often. Y'all are sweet.

Phil: Yes to the autograph, no to the underwear (that'll cost you extra).

Canadians: We are coming your way...

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 24 November 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I hear their cock rock medley of "Balls to the Wall"/"Nice and Sleazy" is going to wow the lumberjacks down from the Great Slave Lake.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 24 November 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Possibly just the cock medley.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

there'll be none of that in SK. At least not in licensed establishment. We in SK have nothing against nudity, but we don't ever want to find out what might happen if you mixed alcohol and nudity.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Frostbite, I'm guessing.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Especially if David Frost is in town.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

(That one was just for you, H.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

What if David Blaine is in town?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Then they just shrink and disappear. Like MAGIC!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

three years pass...

Nebraska from Afar makes a fine soundtrack for lopsided baseball games on TV.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

three years pass...

Now that's a great post from Morbs there!

Relistening to Saskatchewan for the first time in moons and "Nightlife" kills, all over again.
