So this track is about house pace, but with gabba-style doubled kicks. It samples the guitar intro to Sweet Child O Mine and has a bassline that sounds like Superfreak played double fast. It's fucking great. Does anyone know it?

stazi? from chips with everything?

lionelrichie (lionelrichie), Sunday, 17 August 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Aha. Google now tells me the song is called "Put your loving arms" and is indeed Stazi. cheers lionel.

Now. Does anyone know where I can buy it from?

It's not out yet ... this is odd because I have to do a stazi review tonight. Where did you hear of it?

Look at www.chipsrecords.co.uk

My friend and I recently put them on at the Nottinghill Arts Club. It's agreed that we are definitely having them back. They are v. god live and ROWETTA sings with them!

there was a track called 'Guns n Pianos' a few years back that also sampled the opening riff to SCOM

I think it would be a clearance nightmare - sample-wise for that track but agreed it's a wicked song.

Stazi are brrrrrilliant live, it's true.

I heard it on a stream of the Donna Summer show on wfmu...

Is it that track by Juno Reactor?

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Monday, 18 August 2003 05:32 (twenty-two years ago)

All I can think of is 2 Live Crew's "Fuck Shop"...which I'll accept isn't very helpful. Sorry. (very good song tho!)

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 18 August 2003 09:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, I didn't mean Juno Reactor, but Apollo 440. Always get thyose 2 acts mixed up for some reason. Not sure about the track, not even sure if I'm right.

There was a record out a few years back on Freskanova records that sampled the riff from SCOM, my mate Dave lent it to me for a few months. I just googled the label discography and I think it is:
FN 3 Hal 9000 - Knock 'Em Out
That's the EP title, not sure if it's the song title too. You could visit http://www.freskanova.com/ and email them to check it out...
