Hmm. I'd feel obliged to try better coverage than that. Maybe:

1. Silent All These Years
2. Winter
3. Tear in Your Hands
4. Pretty Good Year
5. Putting the Damage On
6. Spark
7. Jackie's Strength
8. 1000 Oceans
9. Taxi Ride
10. Mary (new version)

But ten is way too few.

ara, Friday, 9 January 2004 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Ten is way, way too few, I couldn't narrow it down in any meaningful way after 25 and this was after excluding covers for no reason other than it would make my head hurt.

iieee
Raspberry Swirl
Professional Widow
Datura
Hey Jupiter
1000 Oceans
Here. In My Head
Precious Things
Siren
Blood Roses

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 9 January 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I drew a blank after "Raspberry Swirl," "Hey Jupiter" and "Winter" (the last being a sentimental choice from middle school - all of Little Earthquakes sounds hokey as hell now).

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 9 January 2004 21:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I like "Reign in Blood" and "Down by the Seaside". But "Thank You" was pretty horrible.

Broheems (diamond), Friday, 9 January 2004 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

This (lord help me) is really well done.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 9 January 2004 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Tim F, Thursday, 19 April 2007 08:24 (nineteen years ago)

doughnut song one of the best she ever did & not buried under non sequitur/super arcane lyrics, a shame it's overlooked

daria-g, Thursday, 19 April 2007 12:05 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, C-man liked Tori Amos. I always pictured him liking rubbish modern punk bands.

chap, Thursday, 19 April 2007 12:12 (nineteen years ago)

yeah 'doughnut song' is killer - the way she delivers "happy for you, and i am sure that i hate you" is amazing.

lex pretend, Thursday, 19 April 2007 12:16 (nineteen years ago)

doughnut song is great :-) that whole album, actually, once you get past the first layer, is filled with really strong songwriting
