i think c-man is very hard on Ned. c-man clearly enjoys acting like an idiot out of selfish boredom (surely you wouldn't deny this in all seriousness?) and repeatedly mistaking the definitions of 'offensive' for 'irritating' - and Ned's only 'crime' as with many other people here including myself is to protest about it because it can often be a real pain in the arse - like when the same fly keeps buzzing around your food, over and over again. threads ABOUT c-man are just as stupid i guess but what can you do? ignore altogether? apparently not. i know Ned or anybody else here hardly requires sticking up for, and I guess he's used to the abuse what with all the photoshopping (but that was friendly fun, as perhaps this is but very well disguised as nasty petty childish insults if so) but i can't help but question the absurdity of this whole business.

i'm sure c-man is completely normal offline, and meeting him out of curiosity might be interesting briefly. but this doesn't excuse online behaviour really. can't speak for him but i figure if Ned had met you when the opportunity was there you would still feel the same about each other if you were both behaving in the same way as you are doing at the moment. maybe the meeting would have changed that. maybe c-man would've gone away realising what Ned is really like and resolving to not abuse the boards of which he remains such a patron out of respect. but i am sceptical.

it doesn't look very repetitive to me. Are you saying that you're annoyed by the "creative" titles? I mean, they're obviously just an excuse to talk about one artist or another, which is what ILM is about. He hasn't been a serious troll since I started paying attention to him like a month ago. Actually what's really been annoying me for quite a while is people who start threads/long discussions about how much he sucks without any proof. Geir, and, especially, Aja (and even Burmakitty for that matter) are more annoying and suck about a thousand times more than Calum as he exists today. So can't we just fucking drop it and talk about music some more?

so Dan you enjoyed each and every one of the numerous threads about Nicky Wire or Holly Valance? in my opinion there's no real difference between Aja saying 'What?' or 'Huh?' 20 times on ONE thread and c-man starting 20 threads based on the same weak joke/opinion (they are weak because they go for cheap/easy targets e.g. large women in cliched ways or as opinions are seldom rationalised or backed up properly - most people do this from time to time but c-man does it every day). unlike Aja though, c-man seems quick to resort to mild abuse when encountering people who disagree with him or his methods. thus annoying as hell.

i would concede there. no image spamming, very little hijacking of other threads to continue flame wars, generally good conduct - BUT for this incessant needless multiple thread starting and frequent descents into insults. this suggests to me that rather than your average troll (who would've got bored by now surely) there's a different game of sorts going on - a genuine urge to be recognised, talked about, vehemently and passionately lambasted and/or praised, a desperate and relentless plea for attention...but why here? and why in this way/for these reasons?

I think the complaint is that creating a special vendetta for Calum and not extending it to others is cliquish persecution. My personal complaint is that we tried deleting all of Calum's posts as they came in and HE NEVER WENT AWAY.

Well I can tell you that someone IS going to - at this rate. The real problem with the "just ignore it" refrain, is that what you're really saying is to avoid it. Avoiding 'it' is a large part of why 'we' came here to begin with. In this case ignoring is equivalent to losing, so it's hardly any surprise that it's not the ideal or happy solution.

i can't find it by searching threads with Phil Collins in the title - was this the one about him gangbanging a load of groupies? i do recall something amusing in there somewhere but can't remember what or who was responsible
