I like their sensiblities, though (blatantly Big Star).
What's the good stuff?

Though there's at least ten more I could have picked. The Posies are / were / are fantastic, you should get all their albums, and singles, and everything by them solo too.

i have kept my distance from listening to them since the KS-abuse/creep shit went down. played dear 23 recently which i always thought was hurt by over-slick production, liked the following records much more but hell it sounded very nice after all these years. very sad he fucked it all up by being a typical rock star abuser, the songs are quite good. i always wonder what these mid/low tier rock guys do after being canceled, do they do uber eats or something, residuals aren't going to help them and their touring bucks are kaput.

I know only 6 people gave their POX up above, but am I really alone in thinking that Flood of Sunshine is an amazing track?
Sure, "brooding 8 minute epic guitar workout" isn't exactly what you're looking for from The Posies, but jeez what a song!

I only had Frosting on the Beater (won it off the local radio station) and one solo KS album and I will agree -- the Posies still sound so good in spite of KS being a revolting abusive creep. The guy wrote some really sweet and memorable melodies, was not a bad lyricist, and sings right in my range. I still have tender feelings about Golden Blunders, Dream All Day, and You Drew (from Soft Commands).

I would not however give him the time of day nor would I promote or recommend his music to someone not already familiar.

Carry on touring as far as I can tell, doesn't seem to hurt the ticket sales

Geez, didn't know anything about all that (just read up)...My three favourite songs are "Any Other Way," "Ontario," and "Grant Hart."

Touring as The Posies probably isn't a viable option unless either was to revive the name, doubt it though as Jon Auer appeared to quit as soon as he became aware of allegations against KS

Oh! Solar Sister is also a favorite. It’s actually a huge shame they can’t tour/reunite bc I’d really enjoy seeing them live. Never saw them bitd.

that album-opening one-two punch of dream all day and solar sister is power pop heaven. back in that exact day, i was interviewing them in advance of a local show and their label publicist suggested i talk to ken if i like the weird songs and jon if i like the more straightforward ones. i told her i liked em all and she ended up setting me up to talk to jon. during the interview, i told him he'd been proffered as the non-weird one and he was quite unhappy about that! maybe even a little angry.
