That bargain Faust Wumme years boxset... (January 2004)

Hi,
I can't find the thread right now, but I spoke last week about having the Faust Wumme years reserved for me at a price of £2. I didn't hold out much hope of getting it but I was wrong, and I got it yesterday. Now the tale can be told.

It was in MVC in Basingstoke, Festival Place. For what it's worth, there is one left if you live or work close to there. It was behind the counter on the 'display' shelf. I went the previous saturday and took it t othe desk, but they could not find the contents. I took their number and phoned the next day. They found the contentss (double plural there).

Hey, if you do get that last one, say so here so saving anyone else the journey... Or if you get there and it's gone.

this is a fucking awesome box and you are very lucky :-)

I refuse to even attempt to remember how much I paid for that bloody box-set; and that was despite already owning 2 of the 5 CD's in the sidding box.

Great stuff 'though.

Like I said on that thread: you're a lucky b. :-) Once again, I pity myself for living on the other side of the North Sea...

Willem, I feel sure that if you'd ever actually been to Basingstoke, you'd feel differently.

haha.

Actually, I'm not so sure about that, Stewart. I saw that there's a Basingstoke's Festival with a Parade and Balloons (as in big ones that Verne wrote about)! Plus there's a record shop owner that doesn't have any idea of what he/she's selling...

I played at the Bas.Fest, or one of them anyway. There is a park with a bandstand, very Trumpton. We played to an everchanging audience. Quite enjoyed that one...

Have you considered the possibility that it might be the entire population of Basingstoke who don't recognise what that record shop owner's selling?

After all, someone must have been responsible for the shop having acquired two copies of the box-set in the firt place - it's hardly his / her fault that none of their customers had sufficient taste to buy the things!

are you in a brass band mark?

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 12 January 2004 11:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Not any more, we only knew the one song and we played it every day...

No, actually it was a ska tribute group. Good fun while it lasted but I got bored going back to the same places....

I saw this today for $150 (Australian). I am so jealous.

six years pass...

It's a good box to have for a long car journey.
