What do you think of these? pt. 1

Here's a list of my recent (past month) acquisitions.
I've only listened to about half of them all the way through
yet:

Hieroglyphics, _Full Circle_: How come Tajai sucks so
much now? And where the hell is Del the Funky Homosapien?
He's on, like, four songs.

2066 & Then, _Reflections_ (1970s): Crude, rude, and
rollicking jazz-rock from Germany. One-dimensional and none
too innovative, yet enjoyable nontheless.

Aaliyah, _Aaliyah_: A stunning artifact, dark and strange.
Aaliyah's vocals, especially, are beautifully
distant and haunting.

Zombies, _Oddysey And Oracle_ (1969): Killer find.
Psychedelic power pop that really has never been improved upon.

Spock's Beard, _Feel Euphoria_: It has it's moments. Even
poppier than anything they've ever done, but is less. the prog
moments sound almost like parodies, though.

Boston, _Boston_: What more can be said about this soulless,
antiseptic, beautiful record? All of these songs are radio
staples, but it's nice to hear them side-by-side, to see just
how much variety there really is.

Marillion, _Anoraknophobia_ (2001): Not bad. I never liked Fish
much, anyway; he had this way of cramming so many lyrics in they
ruined the melodies (which often didn't exist)

Steve Hackett, _To Watch The Storm_ (2003): Another uneven
but mostly good release from one of my favorite
guitarists - who still has this insane reluctance to solo.
ARGH! He let's it rip a few times, at least.

Montrose, _Montrose_ (1973)
Montrose, _Paper Money_ (1974): In the interests of disclosure,
I despise Van Halen.

Mountain, _Climbing_ (1970): Cream ripoffs that sound
more ragingly beautiful than their progenitors.

You spent money for these?

OK, maybe the Zombies

There's at least two badass songs on that Hieroglyphics album = "Classic" and "Let It Roll". The groove from "Let It Roll" reminds me a whole lot of Bjork's "Human Behavior", only way more peppy.
