You encounter a person from 2070, with an encylopedic knowledge of all music between then and now. Which band do you eagerly ask him for news of, and which are you afraid to inquire about?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

This came from the Prodigy thread, wherein I realised that I didn't care whether they ever got back on track, but was quite anxious that Elvis Costello recover from North.

What about that "Smile" box set, eh?

LondonLee (LondonLee), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

"Does anybody remember laughter"?

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd ask if there's any particularly annoying bands in the future which I could avoid by stepping on the right butterfly.

Jole, Wednesday, 14 January 2004 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

How are Busted doing?

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I'm from about 4000ish so I'll probably be able to help here, although the near future is a distinct problem. Anything in the 3050-4020 era and you're in.

P.S. I definately remember no Smile boxed-set being around. Mind you, I don't remember many boxed sets at all.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Or have they gone to 4 in a Mach 3/Quattro style oneupmanship battle?

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

"How many volumes of Grateful Dead's Dick's Picks were there, eventually?"

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

To the nearest million how many Pink Floyd re-releases have there been?

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd have more questions for a time traveler from 2112.

Keith Harris (kharris1128), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm from the year 2112, fire away.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

did Jay-Z return from retirement?
did Tupac come back from hiding?
how about Nicky Wire?

paulhw (paulhw), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to meet someone from 2525 to ask them if Zager & Evans got it right.

LondonLee (LondonLee), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Jarlr'mai, are you a priest of the Temples of Syrinx? Have you got the electric guitar problem under control?

Keith Harris (kharris1128), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)
