searched "we are the quarry" and got a song called "I Have Forgiven Jesus" that sounds really good - like Viva Hate era - BUT Moz is sounding a fuck of a lot like Stephin Merritt, no?

i like the live version of First of the Gang To Die a lot too - morrissey's fascination with homoeroticism, Mexicans, and teenage gangsters continues unabated - this time all in one song!!

I want to dismiss "I Have Forgiven Jesus" as an impersonator track, or at least a really rough demo. I've never heard Moz dip that low in his vocal range.

The live version of "Mexico" has his best lyric in ages: "I could taste the hate / From the Empire State." "The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores" and "I Like You" have my hopes far too high for this album.

The new album is coming out in April reportedly. Does that mean April in the UK, or simultaneously in the US? At any rate it will surely be delayed.

for a minute i misread:

Attack are also negotiating with Nancy Sinatra to release her version of "Let Me Kiss You" as a single

and thought moz would be dueting with nancy. i think that would be a pretty interesting proposition.

he's in even more trouble than i thought if this is his best lyric in ages. I just heard this Jesus track - the vocals are bad, i suspect it's not him (althouhgh i fully expect the real thing to be equally bad but in a different way).

Irish Blood English Heart is also out there in live bootleg from the last tour....I think I have it somewhere....That and First of the Gang to Die were the hilights of the new material for me...
