Insides, Euphoria

Also "Under my skin I am laughing" by Earwig (Insides before they lost a member). Try and track down "Past" by Earwig too, their early singles, a few grand moments on there too.

Drive By by The Necks.

Tilt by Scott Walker is kind of a nasty, hellish inversion of Spirit Of Eden.

You could look into French band Bed too, who rip-off latter period Talk Talk shamelessly. this review is WAY too generous, in hindsight.

The second BP C/D link is meant to be to a thread called 'Talk Talk'.

"Echoes" - The Rapture. Played really quietly.

any of the last four Labradford albums

Papa Sprain, uber-hard to find their stuff the only Irish band that did 'post-rock' well. Depresses me that said label is now being bandied about in my part of the country to promote the fucking endless numbers of Mogwai/slint knockoffs.

So as not to annoy others, or so as not to annoy yourself?

Doug Watson copied me both this *and* that Necks album in exchange for Disco Inferno goodness so I think you're very much onto something. Mzui, come live in my brain for a while, most of this music is on permanent rotation.

(While I'm at it, Languis -- who in a way are the inversion of Bowery Electric in that it's two IDM guys from Argentina who moved to LA and after a while thought, 'Hm, this guitar drone stuff, what can we do with it?' Ten years going and I think they keep getting better.)

Thanks for the info people, I shall be purchasing 'The Necks' tomorrow, also 'Bed' (if I can find it.) As for 'Earwig/Indides' it might have to be a 'slsk' job for the moment.
Especially after trawling the net and not having much luck.
Mind you, I haven't tried the mighty Musicstack site yet.

What a handy thread revival! Check this link, Mzui.

if you can find a copy, 'Yahweh' by Shiva Affect is the Great Lost Album of the early 90s if you're into that Bark Psychosis sort of thing (one of the tracks was even produced by Graham Sutton). they released a 10" called 'Road Movie' which is also worth getting.

zappi (joni), Sunday, 18 January 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

shiva affect were easily forgotten cause they were dud.
