i was gonna say First of the Gang To Die, too, but having only heard the live version, it's too early to really tell, if production is going to mar (no pun intended) the song - but I agree its one of his best songs in years...Bring on The 'Quarry!

O! I have changed my mind again. Little Man, What Now? Will Never Marry You're the one for me, fatty Yes, I am Blind Oh well, I'll never learn Mute Witness Black-eyed Susan Wide to Receive I'd love to Irish Blood, English Heart

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

The words aren't straining to the tune, unlike most post 1989 stuff.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I did consider just putting the whole of Viva Hate minus The Ordinary Boys and I Don't Mind If You Forget Me (I don't mind the latter, but it breaks the haze of the rest).

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha - I quite like '...Forget Me'. I have resolved to make you a cherry-picked post-VH cd next time I venture into Glasgow.

This is too hard, though. I hate picking just ten, this is maybe too list-y for me.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Jerry, I have everything up to You're The One For Me, Fatty, plus Vauxhall & I and Interlude (have you still never heard the latter?)

Ned Raggett made me download The Edges Are No Longer Parallel once - it was awful.

I can't understand why no one else ever talks about I Can Have Both.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I have heard 'Interlude' now, yes. It once touched me when the iPod played it to me on a stalled train near Battersea Power Station.

'I can have both' is very nice. I think you would like at least 2 tracks from 'Maladjusted' plus sundry b-sides (eg 'Swallow on my Neck').

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

But yes, I would like you to make me that record. Thank you.
