electro-acoustic music.

maybe i just don't get it, but has anyone listened to and enjoyed jim o'rourke's "terminal pharmacy" on tzadik? i just recently picked up this album, and though there are definitely some very nice textural moments, overall it's just not very good, but the only comments i've been able to find anywhere about it are all overly-effusive. it even seems like ol' jim resorts to some very cheap electro-acoustic tricks (eg, quiet quiet quiet LOUD quiet)...

anyway, thoughts?

thanks!

it is okay, it a few yrs old isn't it? like 96 or 97, I think mr o'rouke has done better since.

that super-quiet into the insane-loud thing was his schtick there for awhile (see also "Rien" by faust)
