don't worry you can still order cheap cds via the channel islands.

These 3 are V.A.T exempt and don't charge for delivery to the UK. [And stock a much wider range of releases than CD-Wow]

Play.com
PowerplayDirect.com
Splash DVD

are they going to start charging for delivery? or are they just raising the price of CDs? I noticed that some CDs are listed at 9.99 now, instead of the regular 8.99, but even that, with free shipping, is cheaper than most other shops for those of us ordering from Canada or the US.

They've settled with the 'industry' and will not use 'cheap' sources.

no the reason they are increasing their prices, as they have to source them from Europe. Therefore higher distributor prices - are passed on to the customers.

Previously CD-Wow - sourced CDs from elswehere - Far East / America.

these increased prices are - for UK delivery customers.

I don't know how this will relate to their US customer base.

I bought a tape copy of 'straw donkeys, the best of Carter USM' for £2 from a proper shop in Bangkok, amazed to find it's "Made in the UK, not for sale anywhere except the far east' inscribed on the inner (I paraphrase)...

Presumably the same goes for CD's nowadays
