"Fleet Foxes will never, ever, under no circumstances, from now until the world chokes on gas fumes laughter, sign to a major label."

UPDATE: OK, so, Warner Music has owned 49% of Sub Pop since 1995. That kinda makes it a "subsidiary" or "permutation", right?

this is a case where the facts are more interesting and scandalous than the actual practice involved.
I'd love to be corrected but unless Sub Pop has put the Fleeties into a Willa Wonka beardo-beach-boy factory, and the band members were happily led by noserings THEN Robin Pecknold said this, then sure, the hypocrisy is pretty clear... but I somehow doubt this is how things between Sub Pop and Fleet Foxes have been. Warners' role has likely been financial only.
Robin could have worded his statement better without a doubt.. but in the context of jumping to catch the major label carrot, it's pretty clear what Robin meant in his statement, and there's nothing hypocritical about that sentiment.

but you know, any chance people have to talk the shits about Robin Pecknold or catch him in a not-worded-too-smartly statement, ATTACK!
