I love metalsludge, they were invaluable in my coverage of the Poison/Vince Neil tour last fall.

Huck Hurts (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, had caught the results earlier today. Jason Becker is pretty damn cool, I have to say.

As for the nudity blocking, you can thank Britney.

Jordan I'd have copied & pasted, but its a long long page and it would not come across well on here due to graphics and the like.
Metallica won most of the 'worst' awards though.

Sludgeaholic, Monday, 26 January 2004 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

boy do those dudes HATE Metallica!

Huck Hurts (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

My personal favorite survey question:

"Which of These Chicks Would You Bang?"
1. Britney Spears (855) 17%
2. Shakira (454) 9%
3. Jenna Jameson (452) 9%
4. Christina Aquilera (426) 8%
5. Jessica Simpson (407) 8%
6. Gwen Stefani (403) 8%
7. Mandy Moore (358) 7%
8. Donna D'Errico (246) 5%
9. Michelle Branch (240) 5%
10. Pink (237) 5%
11. Paris Hilton (224) 4%
12. Jewel (209) 4%
13. Jackie Enx (182) 4%
14. Pamela Anderson (171) 3%
15. Kendra Jade (79) 2%
16. Heidi Mark (56) 1%
17. Jasmin St. Claire (54) 1%
18. Josie Pearl (38) 1%

I don't even know who 13, 16, 17, or 18 are.

Oh, yeah, I found it funny that they hate all the stuff that could be seen as "ironic" metal, like Andrew W.K. and The Darkness. And they clearly hate the White Stripes as well.

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

and with the exception of J.J., all of the top ten (except maybe D.D'E--I don't know who she is) are NOT porn stars!!!

Huck Hurts (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:36 (twenty-two years ago)

13 is the drummer of Rhino Bucket -- and also a transsexual. Which as MS noted makes her victory over Pamela Anderson quite something.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, Donna D'Errico was in Baywatch and Under Seige! Wasn't she?

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

siege, I mean.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, your word is good enough for me. I just think it's something that like, the semi-chaste women were more attractive to M-Sludge readers than pornstars. Maybe there's something going on.

Huck Hurts (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Weird -- is it openly known that this drummer is transsexual?! If so, this person's chart position is either quite impressive and progressive, or deeply disturbing.
The gal from "Under Siege" was Erika Eleniak. I think Donna D'Errico is married to Nikki Sixx.

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Monday, 26 January 2004 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I love MetalSludge more than ever

>> found it funny that they hate all the stuff that could be seen as "ironic" metal, like Andrew W.K. and The Darkness<<

Well, maybe they just hated Andrew WK's latest album because it's a boring piece of shit, actually. (Though, admittedly, they did seem to hate his less boring previous one, as well.) Still, look at this:

Who Had The Best CD Of The Year?
[5,301 votes total]
1. Anthrax "We've Come For You All" (1376) 26%
2. Black Label Society "The Blessed Hellride" (646) 12%
3. Iron Maiden "Dance Of Death" (614) 12%
4. The Darkness "Permission To Land" (421) 8%

To quote DEP, irony's a dead scene.

James Slone (Freon Trotsky), Monday, 26 January 2004 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

What's the deal with Anthrax, though? I don't get that at all. Do they own *Metal Sludge*? I mean, I heard they put out a couple songs that sounded like, um, the Foofighters or something this year, but mostly, I didn't think anybody cared about them since the mid '80s, and weren't they mostly considered hacks from the beginning? They sure always sounded like hacks to me, but what do I know...It's not like I've been paying attention. I mainly just remember the songs when they used to imitate the Beastie Boys or whoever.

chuck, Monday, 26 January 2004 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Very much so, in fact Metal Sludge broke the story with an in-depth question and answer session (part of the '20 Questions' series referred to in the poll results).

Haha! Based on who you talk to, the owners are Anthrax, Poison, Tuff, all of them, none of them. Whatever the situation is, Scott Ian in particular has shown a great sense of humor whenever he's talked to MS, done tour diaries, etc. And away from the radar they have their fans and a lot of them are on Metal Sludge.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 26 January 2004 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

>And away from the radar they have their fans

I liked the new Anthrax album quite a bit. I think they got a lot better when John Bush first joined, but then they started to suck again. Now they're good again.
