Aren't third parties like, totally indie rock?

You are all poseurs if you vote for Bush or Kerry. For the Brits or anyone else change that so its applicable.

Nader can take a flying fuck at a rolling Corvair doing doughnuts!

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't the Corvair a plane? No, wait,...that's a Corsair.

nader might not even be running this election.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

nader is like minor threat crossed with the grateful dead (and that isnt a compliment).

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

nader isn't the problem THUS FAR. it's the folks yammering on about "electability" -- that is, let's elect someone who's been in DC forever and was steamrolled by Bushco too many times b/c he's somehow more "electable."

and no, i am NOT a nader fan. use the search fcn in ILE if you don't believe me. i just don't think that he's the problem this year, thus far.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmm. i suppose the questions are 1)What will the Greens do if Kerrey is chose and 2) who would they run instead of nader?

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

in all honesty, if kerry wins i'll vote for him -- i just don't think that he's the best that the democrats have to offer. 3d parties are NOWHERE in the USA. plus, i think that nader is a demagogue and just as unqualified to be president as bushco. i'm just saying that this year he hasn't been the problem ... not YET, anyway.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

and i think that how the Greens go will depend on what Kerry does (assuming that he is the nominee) -- will he make an effort to get them (this will depend on how he treats Dean and his supporters), or does he stiff-arm them?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I think if Dean gets nominated (not likely at this point obv) then the greens will be much more likely to vote democrat...and Dean isn't even that liberal, but he represents that grassroots-base.

Dean said he likes Wyclef Jean.

djdee2005, Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

and Clark says he likes Outkast.

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 31 January 2004 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

nader's last run has made the contributions to his organization dry up due to blowback from lefty donors who blame him for Bush so I could see him running just to stick it to terry macauliffe. he wouldn't get as much support as last time, he wouldn't be much of a factor really. he's not a green anymore anyhow, they can go back to group meditiation for world peace. oh wait that is the natural law party. if kerry is the nominee then please shoot me now, that guy will bore us all to death. it's funny to see a member of the the super-rich rail against the super-rich. dean would have been more fun.

keith m (keithmcl), Saturday, 31 January 2004 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish I could relate this back to music, but I don't know. I do think it would be cool to have the Green Party put out a good comp. I am sure there would be bands amenable to this. The danger of course is it would turn into a jam band thing.

I agree with Horatio Alger, sort of. Of course 3rd parties are nowhere, because everyone is a bitch and votes for which ever guy they think is less of an asshole. Which makes you an asshole. With hemmoroids and anal warts.

If we were voting on fun-ness I would have to go with G-Dub cause he always cracks me up. Him and his goofy smirk.

One final note from our president, "The great thing about America is everyone should vote."

The USA needs preferential voting so badly I just cry on your behalf. And for the love of god, actually vote dammit! Far flung nations suffer for your apathy.
