I want to make a 3 cd blues compilation. One artist, one track. Old stuff (prewar) just when absolutely necessary. Emphasis - Muddy Waters, Albert King, Howlin Wolf era. But I want stuff from the 80's, 90's and 00's too. The most known songs.

Help me!

First, get a CD burner.

I think you can skip these first steps...

what do you need to know?

Where to get cd-rs...

Serious, I want suggestions, some tracklists... you know...

I can work on one for ya, Elvis. 3 CDs though, this might take a couple minutes... shouldn't be too hard though, if ya just want the popular cuts for each artist.

there are lots and lots of blues comps out there dirt cheap. I got a real good 3-disc set for like 5 bucks a couple years ago. Not the most popular cuts, but really, what's the diff?

Search for Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers.

I am from Brazil and it is hard to find a blues album (except BB King). But I really want to know more about it, and the starting point will be these cds.

I just have three bb king cds, a muddy waters import, Eric Clapton's "from the Cradle" and this:

This is good, but I think we can do much better than Charly...

That comp looks pretty darn good actually, although yeah in a few instances they willfully avoided the "obvious" cuts....

check out the first 4 volumes of the RCA/Bluebird When the Sun Goes Down series. It's all from the RCA archives, but it's pretty damn good.

Yes, the Charly compilation is good. The sound quality is awful. I think it is oriented to the rock fan (yardbirds, ike and tina turner, fleetwood mac). it has a lot of live tracks, including an awful version of Hendrix's Red House.

But I want a more definitive blues compilation.
