If the lead singer of Interpol were to hang himself and the rest of the band were to go on and form a new band without him, what would they sound like?

Don't mean to start another Interpol thread, but the question came in my head and if I didn't write it, well my eye-balls would've shot out blood.

Debito (Debito), Saturday, 10 April 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Interpol minus the vocals. Just music.
Possibly better, possibly worse.

OTM. When JD became NO it set forth a change in styles and approach which continued throughout the decade. Look at the difference between Closer and Confusion in only 3 years. Interpol wouldn't take such a risk in changing their sound if you gave them a lifetime to try it.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Monday, 3 October 2005 07:19 (twenty years ago)

they would play "transmission"

retroman, Monday, 3 October 2005 10:10 (twenty years ago)

I still say, between Isolation and As You Said or whatever the secret track on the Komokino flexi is, that people underestimate the possibility that Joy Division may have likely headed in similar electronic dance directions.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 3 October 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

Having listened to "Isolation" this am, I'm inclined to agree...

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Monday, 3 October 2005 14:19 (twenty years ago)
